Note: this is the current deck I plan to take to states: Josh is building copy #2 so both doogle and I can play this.

Ok here's the revised version of the deck. I REALLY want 4 garruks in here since the deck runs on them, I want to cut the case primal for it, but I'm not sure if that's right. Btw the thunders are teh nuts and being able to chain them with liliana is sick. You only really need 2 thunders against fae if they get BB online, the board helps, but the matchup is still rough.

I did some testing against the planeswalker deck and the rule is, if you have liliana grab violent ultimatum every time, not matter what. It just blows them the hell out. Mind shatter is amazing too. The thing is, they give you all the time in the world to get to violent ultimatum mana, this match is a slow grinding attrition war and they have no hand disruption or means of countering, so it just totally blows them out.

Faeries is still rough, but the colossus help out of the board. Not sure what to say here. 5c is an easy matchup, demigod red is not bad at all. I haven't had a chance to test kithkin yet, so I will probably proxy a version up.

Still I like where this deck is going and I just want to trim a few numbers before states.

I like the thunders and to be honest, they should be maindeck in our list also. I could see cutting a couple eyeblights for them and maybe the case primal still in our list or clasm.

I agree I was thinking bout going -2 eyeblighbts +2 Thunder..


Gerry t version is far to aggro...


I Like the case primal because there are some times where you do need to liliana for it..

also I sorta want a third broodmate... maybe -1 shatter for a 3rd broodmate? not sure shatter is soooo good.

Also I agree on the sb but.. I reallllllllllly hate shriekmaw.. this is how my sb would look

1x eyeblights
1x resounding thunder
1x cloudthresher
2x jund
4x thoughtseize
4x fulm mage
2x primal command

that sb is updated with -2 eyeblights +2 thunder maindeck.

maybe play 3 eyeblights main and cut the primal I dont know... if you do that we can go up to 3 primals sb..

i like that the gerry t version is so aggro its like you are attacking alot then they have to deal with those cretures and the the planeswalker just jumps out and gets them : /

Hi Guys I been testing ramp and been running into some problems with decks. 5cc Cruel Ult. deck has been giving me problems. They have a good draw engine and mind shatters as well, which wrecks ramps face. The testing I have done they allow the ramp spells to resolve and save counters for garruk and mind shatter. If either of those do not resolve early it is very hard to win. Also ramp has dead cards against them where as they are using every card they draw. Other games I have played were pretty good in my fav tho. Weenie White I went 7-0. Backlash is intresting stillmoon and servant go nutty sometimes I only got 3 matches in and it was 2-1 in my favor. Anyway I am always online and down to test with anyone who wants. I can not attend states this year because I will not be leaving germany untill Feb 09. But I do go and wreck the Germans on Friday and Saturday nights.

You must have a different plan than me because I've been smashing those decks. It's gravy after board. They only have 4-6 counters. Usually 4 cryptic and some number of negate/remove soul. Often they will tap out early for an evoked mulldrifter or wrath. You can usually stick a garruk or liliana by then and force them to commit something to the board. You can also EOT a cloudthresher, then if they counter you can untap and resolve whatever you want.

The thing is, they don't put any real pressure on you and you have more must counter spells than they have counters, they have to counter:

mind shatter (2)
violent ultimatum (2)
garruk (3)
liliana (3)

Then after board you get fulminator to mess with their mana, thoughtseize, primal command and the third violent ultimatum. Yummy. Eventually you are going to resolved something awesome and then they are on the backfoot the whole game.

This is why I love justice toast and cloudthresher. Smile Archon is the absolute sexiest beast at the parade. Also mannequins. I can consistently win game 1 here but after 4 duress and 4 stone rain come in it's a hell of a lot harder. All I really pick up against it is shoring up the negate count. If wotc would hurry up and reprint Azorius/Simic Signet then I'd be a happy little boy. I'd settle for Sky Diamond though. Sad

I don't know how the lark matchup is but if it's on the 50/50 line you might want to consider additional Jund Charms in the SB. I'm rather expecting them to make an appearance.

Just confirming that the list in post 1 is the current list so I can make adjustments before I bring the deck.

I may be later than normal tomorrow as my boss today told me to plan on staying late tomorrow as we have yearly budget meetings to prepare for. Lame.

But I will be there. We going to do a mock tourney or just test? I would like to get in some games against WW or Vengeant if anyone is playing them or has them built.

I have also done nothing but lose to quillspike elves mainly because of Chamco so we may need to find something for that

Chump it with finks while winning in the air? I am pretty sure that isn't jsut plan A but like plan A through Z for you. You could always just play your own. I don't think it's better for you than broodmate or anything though.
