I played this at fnm, and have a couple observations.

-Resounding thunder is nice when you can cycle it, but I was definitely in situations where it would have been better as condemn.
-Chaotic backlash kithkin is tough, as they can catch you if you tap out for mulldrifter/wrath/oona/ultimatum(with luck) later than t6 or so. I know I misplayed, and didn't get great mana vs. maples, but it was still a hard matchup.
-Shriekmaw seems suboptimal without mannequin
-no board position hurts
-I'd swap at least 1 vivid grove to a vivid crag, and 1-2 of the seaside citadels to BUR ones

While it will crush lots of poorly played random decks, even with a little bit of manascrew, I worry about how it might do vs. well played red/backlash/faeries.
Doesn't mean it's unplayable at all, just needs some adjustment I think.

Again, I haven't really played this deck much, and I'm often wrong, that's just what I thought

I played it yesterday at west coast, and while I did win my faeries matchup, it was very hard fought. I think the deck needs to be tightened up a bit and cloudthreshers need to go in somewhere to help shore that matchup up.

Also, when boarding against faeries, I took out the ultimatums and nucklavee for the negates.
I think we can probably move one mind shatter to the board, move a pyroclasm to the board and cut something else and put in 3 negates and then fit 3 cloudthreshers in the board.

Mark, shirekmaw is just fine in this deck. All it needs to do is get us to the late game, it functions as a terror and maybe a little more if we have 5 mana. We have no need for mannequin tricks since we will take over if we get to the late game.

Finally, I played against red and smashed it. What happened is I stabilized at a low life total and cruel ultimatum would bury then and get me 5 crucial life points. It wasn't that hard a matchup actually.

The match up against red is a lot harder if they have stigma lasher it usually gets in there and then you are really on the backpedal. : /

My current iteration of the deck has two maindeck condemn and 2 shriekmaw, so I can usually deal with them in some form or another. The deck I played against had both those and shushers post board and I ran them over with no trouble.

Not saying them hitting me can't happen, but there are some built in protections in the deck. Oh and I have a pyroclasm main, so I have 5 ways to deal with it.

Just for my notes: another reason why condemn > resounding silence in this deck.

Yeah, I'll post it when I get home.

The charms don't really do anything against lasher unless you are on the play and even then your mana has to cooperate. As is, the mana is still a little awkward and it's not always possible to fire off a naya charm or esper charm on t3.

I mean, it's very typical to have something like cascade bluffs, vivid creek and reflecting pool in play. Good luck getting a turn 3 charm off of that.

Btw, I've moved our testing to tomorrow. What I want to do though, is lay out our 5 color deck and discuss card choices, then streamline the list a bit.

I want relic of progenitus somewhere in the board, the graveyard is becoming increasingly more relevant. Also, I think I want to take out the resounding wave and make that a thunder for the faeries matchup instead. Typically, if faeries gets ahead, they will stabilize at a low lifetota, so thunder is a beating and then some against them. Also, thunder could make it's way into the ramp deck's sideboard.

Oh and you want to see something creepy? Look at Stewart Wright's article on SCG. There's doogle's ramp deck. Ironically, he also posted the artifact deck I play against at FNM, almost card for card.

-I want Jace in the board somewhere.

-The only matchup I want runed halo is against mono red and even then...

-What about Broodmate Dragon in place of Overlord?

I think broodmate might be really good. that card is such gas... Like in Gbr its one of the best draws always so much so im thinking im gonna bump it to 3. I could see playing maybe even 2 in 5cc
